We're developing our first Active Transport Plan to create a safer and more connected active transport network while improving access to local hotspots and key facilities.

Our aim is to create long-term, sustainable transport and movement networks that make active transport more efficient and convenient, help create a cleaner environment, provide benefits to the local economy and support healthy lifestyles.

Between September and October 2025, we asked how you travel around Maitland, what new or upgraded paths, cycleways and infrastructure could support your journey and what would encourage you to walk or cycle more often.

Thank you for sharing your vision for the future of Maitland's active transport network. We're now reviewing your feedback to inform the development of the draft Active Transport Plan.
