Morpeth to Walka shared pathway report to be presented to Council

20 April 2026

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback during the recent engagement on the Morpeth to Walka Shared Pathway.

The project will be presented to Council at the next meeting on Tuesday 21 April from 5.30pm at the Maitland Administration Centre.

Based on community feedback and further assessment, Council staff are recommending that the proposed route for Walka to Maitland and Maitland to East Maitland be adopted, with some minor modifications.

Further community consultation is also recommended for the East Maitland to Morpeth section of the path due to the high level of community input during the consultation period, and to ensure local insights continue to inform the final design.

You’re welcome to attend the Council meeting or watch it live via Council’s Facebook page to see the outcome.

Additionally, the Council agenda is available on the Council website.
