We care for a number of public cemeteries across our community; some still in use, others with important historical significance. These include Glebe, Oakhampton, Hiland Crescent, Louth Park (Jewish), Oswald, and Campbell’s Hill (limited use), along with our active cemeteries at East Maitland, Morpeth and Rutherford.

As our community grows and changes, so do the needs and expectations around these spaces. Factors like available land, environmental considerations and heritage values all play a role in how they’re managed.

our feedback will help us shape a future Cemeteries Plan, guiding how we care for these places, what options are available and how they can better support our community for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and experiences with us. We’re now carefully reviewing all feedback as we develop the plan.
