We're creating our first Social Strategy, which will set out a roadmap to strengthen social wellbeing and build a more connected, resilient Maitland.

The Strategy will guide how Council partners with government agencies, community services and the private sector to address community needs, provide support and help our residents thrive.

We know our community faces a range of social challenges, and different types of support are needed to help everyone feel connected and valued. The Strategy will include nine supporting plans to address these diverse needs.

Community engagement for the supporting plans will be staggered. You can share your ideas and experiences to help shape the following documents now:

• Social Sustainability Supporting Plan
• Multicultural Communities Supporting Plan
• Community Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Supporting Plan
